    Good Evening Parents,

    JUNE IS UPON US! Hard to believe! Almost completed my first full year at Juniper Ridge!


    PLEASE SEND GENTLY USED BOOKS TO THE OFFICE for our Valleyview Leadership Students!

    PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE NEW SCHOOL MESSENGER APP as per my other email this week.We are switching from SCHOOL CONNECTS to SCHOOL MESSENGER. Our safe arrival phone number REMAINS THE SAME PARENTS! So that is good news! Keep calling in to report those absences.

    JUNE NEWSLETTER WILL BE EMAILED HOME THIS WEEK! The list of calendar dates is extensive as always.

    PBIS SAFE PLAY SAFE HANDS CAMPAIGN CONTINUES THIS WEEK! The kids have been doing a great job keeping hands to self and following expected behaviours. They are going to earn a special reward after this week!

    THE PAC IS HOSTING A STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCH for JRES Staff. Please see the link below to sign up to assist in the Mexican Fiesta! Thanks for assisting the PAC executive with this event for staff.


    We got our 2 new WATER FOUNTAINS THIS WEEK! Send your child with a water bottle because it fills it in seconds and is free of lead! It also tells us how many plastic water bottles we have saved on this planet each time we refill.


    Monday May 28- Mrs. Johnston's Class is on a field trip all day to release our Salmon!  A reminder that the Juniper Ridge Community Association has its ANNUAL AGM on Monday night 6 pm in the JRES LIBRARY.

    Tuesday May 29- MAY RECOGNITION ASSEMBLY 8:45 am.Parents welcome!  Mrs. Murray and Mrs. Waters' classes receive the Actua Computer Science Workshops.

    Wednesday May 30- PIZZA WITH THE PRINCIPAL LUNCH- LAST ONE FOR THIS YEAR- I chose 8 winners this time! Should be a great time!  Last Mother Goose session in our library 3-4 pm

    Thursday May 31- PAC HOT LUNCH- Swiss Chalet- we all eat at 12:05.  Gymnastics for Plut, Sandhu, Gatien and Hill's classes.

    Friday June 1- GR. 7 PARENTS- your ticket totals and payment are due today so we can confirm with TRU! The response has been amazing!  We hope all Gr. 7's join us...it will be the most memorable evening! I have planned this at my last 5 schools and for my daugther's Gr. 7 Moving On Ceremony from McGowan back in the day.

    Shumway Lake Friday for Mr. Richard and Mrs. Stonehouse's classes all day.



    PEOPLE IN MOTION CHARITY OF CHOICE for LEADERSHIP STUDENTS- Please send in a donation June 4- 8th  for this amazing organization that spent 5 days educating our children about Inclusion and Diversity. There will be a donation jar on the office counter.  Thank you Mrs. Grimm/Davey's students for thinking of these individuals.

    Monday June 4- Harriet Broadbent will be PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY! Her parents bid on the experience at the PAC SPRING SOCIAL at the silent auction!

    Thursday June 7- PAC HOT LUNCH- HOT DOGS- we will all eat at 12:05, Fruit and Veggie Program- Tomatoes, Gymnastics- Hill and Gatien, Isobel Lake for Pierce and Tanner's classes all day.

    Friday June 8- Isobel Lake all day for Hill and Gatien's classes.

    Happy Long Weekend Parents,

    Greetings from the sunny Shuswap Lake! I hope your weekend is full of fun and family time. I just finished watching the Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan with my mom! Please find the updates for this week below and a glance at the following week as well. I will be sending a few emails to follow this one regarding assisting our Feeder School Valleyview Secondary with a Leadership project collecting books and also another about the International Student Program Homestay Families needed participalrly in Juniper Ridge.

    Monday May 21- VICTORIA DAY- Juniper Ridge Closed

    Tuesday May 22- Mrs. Lloyd and I present to the Board of Education and Education Officers about the year at Juniper Ridge and how we are proceeding with our school goals from our School Learning Plan.

    Wednesday May 23- ICECREAM DAY! Thank you for all the orders! I so appreciate it. Icecream treats are delivered to classrooms at the end of the school day. Mrs. Lloyd and Mrs. DeFehr away in the afternoon at Safe Arrival training as per my synrevoice about this last week.

    Thursday May 24- Students from Mrs. Murrary and Mrs. Rein's class go to the TREC POW WOW all day. Students in Mrs. Tanner and Mr. Richard's classes have Computer Science workshops from Actua today. People in Motion visit our school for another session today. Students from Hill, Gatien, Plut and Sandhu go to Gymnastics today. It is Flag Football Jamboree Day! Thanks to those parents driving- please be at JRES for 10:30 as the Jamboree starts at 11 am. Mrs. Johnston is the teacher sponsor attending the Jamboree with your kids. PAC HOT LUNCH DAY TODAY! Pizza! We will all eat at 12:05. Gr. 6 Immunizations have been postponed due to the Pow Wow- these will now happen June 6th.

    Friday May 25- People in Motion return for their final and fifth day.  Ms. Marlatt and Mrs. Storozak's classes go to the Wildlife Park all day. Mrs. Stonehouse and Mrs. Swift's classes have Actua Computer Science workshops. Mrs. Decker is away in the afternoon at Safe Arrival training.

    Hi Parents,

    Greetings from Vancouver.

    Happy Mother's Day to all the Juniper Ridge Mom's! Enjoy your special day Sun. May 13th 

    A special thank you to all parents that attended the PAC Spring Social on Friday May 11th. What a great event! We are so grateful for your support of our school. 

    Here are the updates for this week and a glance at the following week for your planning.

    Virtue of the Week: Forgiveness

    ICECREAM ORDERS for May 23 will be sent out Monday May 14th. The order forms and payment are due back on Thursday May 17th. Once again, we will hand out the treats at the end of the school day. Thank you for supporting our fundraiser. 

    Flag Football Update: Practice at 2:45 on Monday May 14th. Last home game Tuesday May 15 against Aberdeen 1 team. Flag Football Jamboree is May 24th at Mac Island. 

    Pizza with the Principal forms are due back Tuesday May 15th for the May draw!

    The City of Kamloops Ecosmart presenter, Jamie, will be at Juniper on Tues. May 15th to do presentations with Pierce, Storozak and Tanner/Powrie's classes. 

    Tuesday May 15th we also welcome Constable Meikle who will do Road Safety Sessions with all K-7 students at Juniper.

    Our last SPARK session is Tuesday May 15th as well for our new Kindergarten students.  A reminder that we start 30 minutes earlier for each session as we will do an introduction to our school on this evening.

    TRACK UPDATE: Those students attending the District 1000/1200 M will go to Hillside on Wed. May 16th. We have 51 students attending the DISTRICT track meet on Thursday May 17th at Hillside. Please return permission slips to the office ASAP. 

    Wed. May 16- SCHOOL PHOTOS- classroom and whole school photo! Bring your smiles.

    One last reminder parents that ASKABLE ADULT is Wed. May 16 at 6 pm at the HGEC. This is a must see presentation for parents.

    Gr. 7 Parents are reminded to send their digital baby photos to Mrs. Unsworth by Thurs. May 17th

    PARENTS please return your PINK PARENT INPUT FORMS by Thurs. May 17th if you want to have input into your child's class placement for 2018-2019. Please drop off to Mrs. Decker in the office. 

    Thursday is also Arbour Day for our Gr. 1 students and they will have a visit from our Ministry of Forests representative.  Thursday also means the Fruit and Veggie Program will be delivered. Ask your kids if they enjoyed the mini peppers. 

    Friday May 18th is a District NON INSTRUCTIONAL DAY-  a reminder to parents that there is no school for students on  Friday.

    Monday May 21 is VICTORIA DAY- Juniper Ridge Elementary is closed.
