Hi Parents,

Happy Saturday! Please find below the updates for this week at JRES and a glance at the following week as well for your planning.

VIRTUE OF THE WEEK: FLEXIBILITY

THE MAY NEWSLETTER will be emailed home on Monday April 30th. Be sure to print the Pizza with the Principal form for May! It is the last one for this year.

Please welcome Mrs.Stephanie Conroy who will be doing an Administrative Assistant Practicum with Mrs. Decker in the office until May 10th. You may hear a different voice on the phone for the next few weeks.

Parents, our school will be moving to 20 DIVISIONS for the 2018-2019 School Year. This is exciting for our school, but will mean some creativity with space. A reminder that parents have until May 17th to return a PINK PARENT INPUT form should you have insight regarding placement of your child for the 2018-2019 school year.

PAC UPDATES: An email was sent Friday regarding our Spring Social at the Sandman Signature Hotel on Friday May 11th 7pm. Please consider attending or making a donation. All the information needed was in that email. 

PAC MEETING is coming up MONDAY MAY 7th 6 pm. PAC Exectutive will be looking for new additions to their team. All parents are welcome to attend and we love new faces with new ideas at the meetings.

PAC HOT LUNCH- PIZZA on Mon. April 30th.

Monday April 30th is the JUNIPER RIDGE TRACK MEET for Intermediates! Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help us! Please stop by any time to watch your children compete! It is going to be  a wonderful day. Our track meet determines which children qualify for the ZONE TRACK MEET on May 10th.  THERE IS NO CONCESSION at the Track Meet so please send ample water and food.

Monday is also our 3rd SPARK SESSION for our NEW K's for 2018-2019. The K's will spend their session in the GYM! It should be a lot of fun! 4:30 and 5:45 are the session times.

Gr. 4 PHYSICAL LITERACY SESSIONS run Monday and Wednesday at 8 am this week.

FLAG FOOTBALL THIS WEEK: Practice Monday at 2:45 and a HOME GAME Tuesday vs.McGowan Park.

ICECREAM ORDERS are due back Wed. May 2! The order slips came home last week on yellow paper.

Gr. 7 PARENTS- you can expect information about tickets for our Gr. 7 MOVING ON CEREMONY June 7 at TRU Mountain Room coming home May 1. Ticket totals and payment are due back by June 1.

YOUNG ARTIST'S CONFERENCE for those students attending is Wed. May 2.

YOUNG AUTHOR'S CONFERENCE for those students attending is Fri. May 4

THE DALLAS/JUNIPER PARLOFF RACE is at DALLAS ELEMENTARY on Wed. May 2! We are all very excited! Please know that administration and staff will be needing to leave right at 2:30 today to get to Dallas to assist with the races. Please find another day to chat with your classroom teacher as they may need to get to Dallas to help.  Good luck to our Parloff Teams!

Mrs. Klassen's class goes to the BLSC on Wednesday at 8:30 am.

Thursday May 3 is Fruit and Veggie Program Day! Grape Tomatoes will await!  It is Gymnastics Day for Storozak and Marlatt's classes 10-11.

Thursday is also DREAMCATCHER PERFORMANCE DAY! Parents are invited to come watch in the afternoon. All information about which classes are performing are indicated in the MAY Newsletter. The Chair of the Board of Education was invited and is even coming to watch!

Friday May 4 we have multiple classes attending the ANNE OF GREEN GABLES play at Valleyview

Monday May 7- Gr. 4 Physical Literacy 8 am/Flag Football practice 2:45 pm / PAC MEETING 6 pm. Childminding provided.

Tues. May 8- Our PBIS SAFE PLAY CAMPAIGN BEGINS! We have been working on common language to use on our playground for supervisors and CEA's and have created Playground Rings to use to teach children in the moment what the expectations are for safe play outside. We are excited to celebrate as a school when children are making safer choices in how they play and deal with conflict.

Canadian Author Sylvia Gunnery is at JRES from 11-12 to speak to Gr. 4-7's.

Flag Footbal Game on Tuesday- Juniper travels to Aberdeen.

Wed. May 9- LAST Gr. 4 PHYSICAL LITERACY MORNING 8 am.  The Let's PLAY WHEELCHAIRS retrun to our school to be used in and around the school.

ICECREAM DAY! Treats will be delivered to classrooms at the end of the day so children can leave with their special snack! Thanks so much for ALL the orders! We really appreciate it.

ZONE 1000/1200 m RACES at DALLAS on WEDNESDAY. Permission forms will come home and drivers will be needed. 10:30 am.

Thursday May 10 is the ZONE TRACK MEET at HILLSIDE STADIUM.  People in Motion Presentations begin today. Mrs. Marlatt and Mrs.Storozak's classes go to Gymnastics 10-11

Friday May 11- PAC HOT LUNCH Senor Froggies. We all eat at 12:05.  People in Motion Day 2. Mrs. Storozak's class is having a Mother's Day Tea at 1:30 for the moms and grandmas in that class.  PAC SPRING SOCIAL at the SANDMAN  7 pm.

MOTHER'S DAY- Sunday May 13th.
